Can you see it?
How about now?
Mordecai (6) came running in from playing in the snow yesterday saying, "Mama, I lost my tooth!" And lose it he did. It literally went flying out in the snow (never to be recovered)...
Well Jubilee was having non of that. She ran outside about ten minutes later and asked Chuck to pull her tooth. Which he did.
So what part aren't I ready for?
For these two to be kids.
You see, we adopted Mordecai as a four week old baby, when I was pregnant with Jubilee. Jubilee was born seven weeks later. For all intents and purposes, they are twins. In the beginning, they were "the babies". Eventually we had to begin referring to them as, "the toddlers" (Hezekiah had joined them by then)...When they got too old to be toddlers calling them, "the preschoolers" worked for a while. Now, at age six....well, they're just kids. I've known this for a while.
But now, with the missing teeth, well everyone can see.
My babies, my twins, have grown up.
And I'm just not ready for that.
