Best and Worst Wednesday

Best smile from Mordecai.

Best part about Mordecai going to school? He is doing some third grade math and learning to read.

Worst part? He sometimes writes stories like the following (spelling corrected for readability):

I was in my bed. I was trying to sleep. But a hand was over my mouth. I was brought to a black  truck. They tied me up in it! And brought me to a black house. They like black! They made me wear black! They made me wear black sunglasses. I was one of them. I was on their side. They gave me a black sleep gun. They shot a man he fell asleep. They brought him into the truck. They tied him up and made him wear black. He was on their side. They gave him a black sleep gun. The rided in the truck. They got one man. He was black too. They brought him in the truck.

Wow, wouldn't a shrink have fun with that one!

Worst smile from Mordecai...he love to tuck his upper lip underneath to produce this ridiculous smile as soon as I pull out the camera.

Best part of Tuesday? We were given 19 pomegrantes!

Worst part? Removing the seeds from 19 pomegrantes so we can eat them for breakfast.

Best part about running every day? I'm going out and getting exercise to be heathly.

Worst part? I'm going out and running every day. Enough said.

Best and Worst Wednesday {The Dental Edition}

Apollo (1) and Judah (14)

Best think about  yesterday's dental visit: the dentist thinks he can save the tooth and did NOT pull it.

Worst part: the appoinment lasted four hours instead of two and I feel like I was in a boxing match.

Best part about saving the tooth: major money savings and no need to worry about whether or not the implant will "take".

Worst part: I now have braces on three of my teeth as the dentist attempts a root extrusion. This essentially means he pulls the tooth down, trying not to pull jawbone with in, in the hopes that there is enough left to attach a crown to.

Best thing to happen so far today: I got a call from Seattle Children's Hospital and they are moving Apollo's appointment to December 5th!

Worst thing: I don't think I'll be able to drag myself out to run today and I really don't want to miss two days in a row.

Best thing to happen last night: Chuck got up with Apollo because I am trying to wean him of night nursing.

Worst thing: he cried on and off for an hour and a half (with Chuck settling him periodically) before he finally went to sleep.

She wants me to do what? Stick that stuff in my mouth?!

Best part today? I stayed in bed until 7:30. 

Worst part? Apollo was up from 3:30-5:30...not sleepy, not wanting to nurse, just awake :(

Best part about Apollo's new sweater? Everything but the ribbing is done!

Worst part? I hate the way the ribbing is looking.

Best part of Wednesdays? Grump Therapy.

Worst part? When you friend cancels :(

Worst part? It cost me five bucks and big headache.

Best part about this week so far? Photographing baby Crew's birth.

Worst part about this week so far? A horrible headache yesterday afternoon.

Best part about having a 15 year old daughter training to be a doula? The incredible education and life experiences she is gaining.

Worst part? Being on call for one of her births.

Best part about having a 16 month old toddler? He's crazy adorable and developing such a cute personality. 

Worst part? He was up every hour or hour and a half last night :(

Best and Worst Wednesday

I has so much fun with my Best and Worst post last week, I decided to make it a regular feature on this blog...until I get bored or forget or something. Feel free to join in in the comments section and/or link to your own Best and Worst blog post...it was so much fun to read other's lists...some similar and some vastly different from mine. Maybe I'll even get all fancy and figure out how to do one of those Mr. Linky things one of these days...

Best part about blogging: the incredible network of friends and community I've made.

Worst: seeing an aquaintence and having no idea if they read my blog and wondering how much they know about my family...

Best part about this weekend's shoot: a beautiful, happy baby!

Worst: discovering on location that neither of my 50 mm lenses worked and having to shoot indoors with an 85 mm.

Best part about my lenses not working: now I "have" to buy a 50 mm 1.2.

Worst part: I still need a back-up 50 mm that works.

Best part about living in the Pacific Northwest: mild, temperate winters!

Worst: no one feels the need to heat a building (or doesn't want to pay the bill) so I end up shivering and freezing indoors until April....

Best part about Mordecai going to school: he loves it.

Worst part: he's gone a LONG time each day.
