Duck Tape :) {and the cutest baby ever}

So, I went to the store again a while ago and bought more duck tape- obviously ;) 

Whenever I finally have an even number of rolls of duck tape please check to see if it's really me.

Now I have 37. 

Now, please don't say that's not 37 rolls...I know it's not. it's 24. Those are only the ones that I haven't used all up already. 

Used up ones. the purple, right beside the black, always looks weird, because my camera makes the colors look different a lot.

I just read a really good book by Margaret Peterson Haddix. It's called Found. If you click over to the link you can read the book description. The next books in the series are Sent, Sabotaged, and Torn. I haven't read Torn yet but I'm getting it from the library. The first book, Found, is about Jonah, his sister Katherine, and his friend Chip. Jonah and Chip are both adopted, and they both get these weird letters. They find a list with a bunch of names and phone numbers and adresses. They call the people and find out that they're all the same age too and all got the same letters. It's a really good book and I'm not very good at describing it, but you should read it. 

The Dead Deer and The Lowercase 'e'

Now, about the dead deer. Adalia saw it when she was taking a walk, so then me and Enoch went to see it and I took a few pictures.

Don't worry, it's not gory. No blood or wounds or anything. It's just frozen. I'm not sure what happened to it.

Doesn't it look a little bit like a kangaroo? A little... well, I think so anyways :)

latest Duck Tape project.

It's a pencil holder.

When we went to Fred Myers on Saturday, I bought two new rolls of Duck tape (sorry for the lousy picture quality! I'm not a full time 'nice' photographer ;)

I'm running out of space.

The beginning of a sock. I ripped it out.

Our door :) I can't remember if it was mine or Adalia's idea, but it's brilliant! (i think ;)

And now for The Lowercase 'e' story.

Pretty, huh? I guess it was worth it :)

Notice how the edges of these are white?

And the edges of these are cardboard-brown?

Well. That's because I need both my hands to paint the top and sides of the cardboard letters white. Notice how the 'e' in 'Virtue' is capital? 

That's because I was doing something stupid and cut myself.

I know they're lousy pictures, but my camera wasn't behaving for my left hand. I cut my right hand and my point and shoot wouldn't focus properly, so I used my nice camera and I had to put it in Manual because in Auto it wouldn't focus. After spending, like, 10 minutes trying to take a picture of this cut, I realized that I could have just asked someone else to take the picture- FAIL! :p Whatever!

So, I was trying to make a hole in the lowercase 'e' and was pushing really hard, and my thumb was up against the edge of the scissors, pushing really hard against the edge. No problem, right? Um, no problem....if it's the dull edge of the scissors. No, this was the blade edge. The sharp edge. Oops. 

So that's the story of The Lowercase 'e'.

Candles and Tape

Now for my tape. I know I already said this but...yellow!

I love my yellow tape :)

The red dragon, pink, orange, yellow, green, blue, blue polka dots, blue, blue, blue/purple, blue/purple tie die, purple, paint splatter, silver, black, houndstooth and zebra actually have some tape on them. The other ones are out.

New Tape and Yarn

Yesterday Adalia and I babysat. Then mom picked us up and we went to Michaels. I got 8 skeins of yarn there, and 6 rolls of Duck Tape. Yes, I got more Yarn than Duck Tape! Anyways, then we went to another yarn store, where I got one skein of yarn. Then we went to Rocket Donuts because I had a gift certificate to it.

My hat. This yarn is SO chunky! 2 stitches to the inch! I just finished row 4 here. My hands got sore, though, which is why I stopped. 

What is this mysterious 5x5 square? Well, I had this idea to make a bunch of squares and then sew them together into a blanket. So far I have 12 squares done. I sewed them together. I'll knit 12 more, then do the same thing, and then sew those two together, and keep going till it looks right. That's why I bought 9 skeins of yarn ;)

My favorite is the turquoise one with purple. And the dark purple with light purple. The light purple is sparkly, and I wouldn't normally buy sparkly purple yarn, but this is just so soft and pretty! 

These are the Duck Tape wallets I recently made. I remembered just now that I was going to get dark green Duck Tape at the store, but I forgot...Oh well! 

My absolute FAVORITE wallet! It's watermelon. I like it so much, I made it my regular wallet. 

Isn't it cool? Well, I think it is! I used the very last bits of my dark green here, and that's why I want more, to make more watermelon wallets.

These are all pictures that mom took, and I painted the canvas and then glued them to it. I think it's really cool.

I had 23 rolls of Duck Tape. 23 is the worst number you could have! No way to put them evenly. unless you put them in a long row. which I don't. Anyways, then I bought 6 more and guess what? 29. But these are my 29 rolls ^, so as you can see, 29 isn't as bad as 23! I got the red dragon, yellow, purple, purple/blue tie die, black, and houndstooth. YELLOW!!! Yes, they finally had yellow! But they didn't have red. But they had some awesome stuff, which is the stuff I got, obviously.

This is my duck tape tree. Yes, it's a tree now. But not a Christmas tree, a Duck Tape tree. There's a difference. 

And this is me when I was a baby! Wasn't I cute? Well, I think I was, anyway.

I Know That I'm Crazy.

You don't have to tell me because I already know- I'm really weird :D

Yesterday grandpa and grandma took Jubilee (for her birthday), Adalia, our friend Devon, and I shopping. Devon, Adalia and I have been wanting to go for a while and they were taking Jubilee anyways. 

First we went to We Care, a thrift store that we love! Then we went to the mall, where we went to Claires and then Target, and then we went to another thrift store. Between the two thrift stores we got a lot of clothes :D

We did not get all this yesterday! There were a lot of clothes in the closet anyways. There's just more now. Yes, it's a bit hard to find your clothes, I have to admit :p

Genuine leather jacket :D I love it! Adalia got one too, but she was wearing it and she was gone when I was taking these pictures.

Now why am I crazy?

Oh, just because I bought ten rolls of Duck Tape yesterday.

There were more than a few people shocked that I spent $40 dollars on Duck Tape, and that's just yesterday! I already had 13 rolls! Yes I have 23 rolls of Duck Tape, but there are, like, ten that are ran out. 

Devon freaked out, because she bought one roll of Duck Tape- Island Lime, and I immediately told her that my  first ever roll of Duck tape, was Island Lime, the one she bought. 

Contrary to popular belief, this is not a Christmas tree. 

Believe me, if you don't have Duck Tape, you are TOTALLY missing out. 

Devon jokingly suggested that I make shoelaces for my Converse out of Duck Tape. I took her advice. But don't expect me to make anything out of Duck Tape! They suggested I make myself a dress, but I told them it's not that simple. 
And Devon was on the verge of tears when she saw that there was Duck Tape on the bottom of my Converse on purpose. (slight exaggeration)

 I know. Sometime soon I'll figure out how much money in all I've spent on my beloved Duck Tape.
That should be interesting.

Duck brand.

NOT Duck brand. Do not buy this! Buy real Duck Tape! Thankfully I only bought two (at Fred Myers), but I didn't notice until we were home that they weren't real Duck Tape. This tape is flimsy and annoying, but Duck Tape is just totally awesome! Now I always check carefully to make sure that it's real Duck Tape, because I don't want to Make that mistake again!

Is it not the coolest?

Isn't it so cool? I absolutely love it! I saw it and totally had to buy it! Then it was too big, but Duck Tape can fix anything. I just wrapped a bit around it on the back where you can't see it and it made it smaller. Well, not really, it just made it fit better.

But whatever :p

Duct Tape Shoulder Bag Tutorial II

WARNING: YOU NEED IMAGINATION TO MAKE THIS BAG!!!

I bought 5 new rolls of tape, so I've been busy making things for the past few days! On Sunday and Monday I made these:

A cup, which is not dishwasher safe and still has a few leaks, so you'd better be fast at drinking water if you make this!

A box

New bag <3

Midnight Madness (black), Deep Ocean Blue, Electric Blue, Green Clover, Spotted Leopard.

My new tape

Purple was the only one not ran out.

Now how to make a bag. Sorry if it's confusing, but i made it up as I went along.

First make a big Duck Tape sheet. How to: I'll show in a later picture.

This is the striped side ^

This is just black.

Fold part of it up

Duck Tape sheet: cut a piece of tape and lay it down sticky side up. Cut another and layer it slightly on top, continue until it's like this^

Lay a piece of tape  on top of your half done sheet.

now trim the edges.

this is the other side after trimming it.

Tape like this on the big sheet.

other side, tape it here too.

i hope you know what to do after that last step, because if not, tough luck! ;) kidding. if you don't know how, just make it up.

Cut a hole and put the handle through, then tape. if that makes sense.

THis is Avi modeling my bag. okay, what I did after i had a huge duck tape sheet: tape the sides together, trim. folded in half. taped side together. taped bottome. tada!

I tied it at the shoulder because it nearly touched the ground when she was wearing it!

 

Duct Tape Shoulder Bag Tutorial!!!!

I made a Duck Tape bag the other day, which I absolutely love! I didn't think to take pictures until I was about halfway through, but it's pretty simple. 

First, buy some Duck Tape. However many rolls you want, it depends on what colors you want it to be. I made mine red and orange because those were my least favorites. ok, that doesn't make sense! They were my least favorites because they weren't real Duck or Duct tape, and they were sort of flimsy.

First, I put a long strip as long as I wanted, on my bed.

Cut a long piece of tape (if you're folding the horizontal tape make it as long as the piece of tape the vertical ones are attached to, if you're making it to hang vertically, make it as long as you want)

Fold part of it down, which is a bit difficult if it's really long, but it's possible.

Fold the bottom part up.

If you are making it to hang vertically, like the red ones on mine, stick it on, and make them sort of close together.

 

rip (or cut) a piece of tape

Attach it to the one above it

weave it through the vertical tape.

attach it at the end with another piece of tape.

when you've woven nearly to the end of the vertical tape,

oops, sideways picture. when you've come to the end of the red tape, tape off the edges.

Take down the tape,

Trim the edges

Fold it in half

cut a strip of tape as long as the side of the bag

Tape up the edge

this is the other side,

Trim the edge

Tape up this edge

Sorry I didn't take pictures for the handle, but I was trying to decide between pink and purple and pink zebra, my only rolls of tape left (I ran out of green, silver and blue, and this bag used up all my red and orange!) 

Just tape up the top, make a handle out of tape in the same way you made the strips of tape for the bag, and secure it with pieces of tape.

The picture on the website was of a really cool wallet with, like, four pockets on the front. this was just a simple wallet with one compartment, but it's still cool, and I added another compartment:
